What does an in-home lactation visit look like?

Picture

Comfort

Never leave your home to receive specialized care from a board-certified lactation professional (BSN, RN, IBCLC). Your entire visit takes place in your own comfortable space. Any additional adult, child, or furry family members are welcome to remain present and ask any questions at the consultation.

Guidance

Receive an evidence-based approach to overcoming some of the common breastfeeding challenges that many nursing parents face. You will be provided with various forms of educational material so that the information is retained and easily accessible, even after your visit.

Support

Your access to help never ends. Reach out anytime after the consultation with additional questions or concerns and I will respond as soon as possible. Even if you are struggling or seeking information related to breastfeeding and/or lactation when your child is older, it is available to you - often without additional cost.

Sarah Rodarte, BSN, RN, IBCLC

Serving Portland and surrounding areas (within a 40-mile radius)

Sarah is a Registered Nurse with 17 years of experience and has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for 8 years.

Her path to lactation care began during her six years as a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse, where she had the privilege of walking alongside families during some of their most vulnerable, powerful, and life-changing moments. That deep connection to newborn care and infant feeding inspired her to become an IBCLC and eventually build a thriving private lactation practice in Florida before relocating to Oregon.

Sarah’s nursing background is wide-ranging, including experience in medical-surgical and long-term care, as well as operating room nursing. More recently, she worked at Mayo Clinic, circulating in high-acuity surgical cases including urology, gynecology, and general surgery. Each step of her career has helped shape her into a calm, capable, and compassionate clinician who meets families where they are.

Born and raised in Alaska, Sarah spent 21 years in Florida before deciding to return to the Pacific Northwest; a move rooted in her desire to give her two kids a life full of nature, balance, and fresh air. Now based in Lake Oswego, she’s passionate about supporting families in a way that’s deeply human, judgment-free, and uniquely tailored to their goals.

Sarah offers assistance with all things related to lactation/breastfeeding/chestfeeding, including:

Latching and positioning
Nipple pain
Low weight gain
Lip and tongue ties
Pumping and feeding plans
Prenatal and postpartum lactation education
Emotional support for nursing parents and significant others

Her approach is inclusive, down-to-earth, and always centered around what matters most: supporting infants and families with care, compassion, and evidence-based guidance.
